Kunming Medical University began to enroll and train international students in 1998. Up to now, it has recruited more than 900 students from 40 countries, including the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Australia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Tanzania, Zambia, Brazil, Maldives, etc..
International Education School of Kunming Medical University was established in October 2011 and it now includes the general office, office of student management and enrollment, office of teaching affairs and a group of Chinese language teaching.
Right now, undergraduate majors set forth for international students by Kunming Medical University include clinical medicine (English Medium),clinical medicine (Chinese Medium), pharmacy, forensic medicine, pediatrics, nursing, etc. Programs for doctoral degree and master degree cover such fields as clinical medicine, stomatology, public health and preventive medicine, pharmacy, basic medicine, nursing, medical technology, biology, etc. And also, the Chinese Government Scholarship, Yunnan Province Government Scholarship, Vietnam Dien Bien Phu Scholarship, Laos Ministry of Health Scholarship, China Southern Power Grid Scholarship and other programs are provided for those doing well in all aspects. In addition, Chinese language teaching is provided for international students.
