The 5th Training Program on Rational Use of Medicine for Health Professionals in South and Southeast Asia in 2022 will kick off very soon. This program is one of series activities of the South and Southeast Asia Medical Education and Service Alliance (SSAMESA). It is sponsored by Department of Commerce and Department of Education of Yunnan Province and hosted by Kunming Medical University.
Specialists from Mahidol University, Chiang Mai University, KPC Pharmaceuticals,Inc. and affiliated hospitals of Kunming Medical University will be invited to give lectures about rational use of psychotropic, glucocorticoid, anti-cancer medication and medication for chronic respiratory disease. Types, efficacy and overseas promotion of natural product of Yunnan Province will be introduced. Online visits to affiliated hospitals of KMU and KPC Pharmaceuticals,Inc.will also be organized during the program.
More than 50 medical and pharmaceutical professionals from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia and the Philippines will participate online.
Since 2018, Kunming Medical University has hosted this program for 4 consecutive years and 150 participants have joined the program. Now, it is one of significant platforms to facilitate medical cooperation between Yunnan Province and South and Southeast Asian countries, playing an active role of building a common community of health for all in this region.
