ZENG Zhong, Doctor of Medicine, Doctoral Supervisor, Chief Physician, Director of the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University. He is a Young and Middle-aged Academic and Technical Leader in Yunnan, a Leading Medical Talent in Yunnan, the Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contribution in Yunnan, and an expert who obtains Special Government Allowance from the State Council. He is also the Head of Yunnan Organ (Liver and Kidney) Transplantation Research Center, the Leader of Yunnan Innovative Research Team for Transplantation, the Head of Yunnan End-stage Liver Disease Research Center, and the Supervisor Team Leader for doctoral students in Yunnan General Surgery. In addition, he serves as the Chairman of the Organ Transplantation Branch of Yunnan Medical Association and the fourth Editorial Board member of the Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery.
He is engaging in hospital management, clinical treatment of HPB (Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary) surgery and organ transplantation, teaching, scientific research, and talent training, and has rich clinical experience in complex advanced HPB surgery, liver transplantation, kidney transplantation and perioperative management after transplantation. He has published more than 90 academic papers in various journals at home and abroad, including 21 papers included in SCI. He has presided over 17 scientific research projects at provincial and ministerial levels, including 3 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, with a total funding of more than RMB 7 million. As the first accomplisher, he has won one special prize and one second prize of Yunnan Science and Technology Progress Award, as well as one first prize of Yunnan Health Science and Technology Achievement Award. So far, he has enrolled and mentored 50 doctoral and master students.
